The Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum has recently been awarded a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund with which to research the impact of the First World War on Skinningrove, with particular emphasis on the wartime experiences of women & children and of those men who remained at home working in the local ironstone mine & steel works.
The Museum is now seeking to recruit a Project Manager with experience of historical research to train & guide Museum Volunteers in research techniques. The successful applicant will help pull together the different strands of research into a unified whole before assisting the volunteers select material suitable for inclusion in a proposed exhibition at the Museum and acting as editor of an accompanying booklet.
An honorarium payment of £4,000 will be made on completion of the project.
