Skinningrove Works

Skinningrove Works

A nice eclectic industrial image with at least 3 locos in steam.  A load of bullhead rails en-route to the despatch sidings for train make-up to their eventual destination.  This one should suit you Eric, plenty of industrial action here.

Harry Dack Class, mid 50s

Harry Dack Class, mid 50s

Thanks to Beryl Morris for this photo, taken in a classroom in Harry Dack Infant School in the mid fifties.  David Morris is the boy in the dark jacket, sitting at the front desk.  Who are the other children and the teacher?

The school was opened in 1954, so everything would still be fresh and new for these children.

Thanks to Beryl Morris for this photograph of the children at Easington School with the headmaster and teacher, taken in 1908.  There’s quite a range of ages in the children, would this be the whole school?  The only name we have is J.C.Morris, kneeling on the left of the front row.

This photograph of the Liverton Mines and Loftus Scouts was taken at the same party as the other three photos that are already on site.  Bob Goldby, Assistant Scout Master, is sitting with the boys, but we haven’t any of the boys’ names.  Were you there?

Thanks to Joe Ward for the photograph.
