Guisborough Station

Guisborough Station

A good shot of BR Standard 2-6-4T 80118 standing at Guisborough Station with a local train.  It could be going either to Middlesbrough, Saltburn or Whitby, because Guisborough was a terminus on the old Cleveland Railway and there is no sense of ”up” and ”down” to tell you the apparent destination.  A subject for the Beeching axe, Guisborough nevertheless lasted longer than the steam engine and saw the advent of the Diesel Multiple Unit before its demise.
