Welcome to the East Cleveland Image Archive – These pages and posts are an archive of photographs from times past and in some cases more recent. Some of the images are self-evident, but others present an enigma – either because they are untitled or because theycontain people, places or matters as yet have not been identified.We appreciate and acknowledge in the commentaries any assistance in identification of people, places or dates: as well as stories relating to any of the images presented on the site.
We attempt to indicate correctly the source of all images offered for display on the site, endeavouring to rectify any oversights or omissions.
We welcome any images offered, but reserve the right to amend the commentaries to any images as necessary. If you have any old photographs of East Cleveland (UK) and would wish to see them included among the images on the site contact Loftus Library (01287 640582 or loftus_library@redcar-cleveland.gov.uk ) and we’ll take it from there – returning your photographs after we’ve scanned them. The ECIA is grateful to Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council for the use of Library facilities. As a result of the problems earlier in the year we are only slowly uploading images; and as we have a considerable backlog ask all donors to have patience, we want to ensure no further problems.
